Love Like Christ

Love Like Christ

In his powerful sermon, Love Like Christ, Cole Tuck challenged Christians to consider what they are truly known for. Drawing from John 13:34-35, Jesus’ command to “love one another as I have loved you,” he emphasized that love is the defining characteristic of a disciple of Christ.

Cole explored the biblical definition of love found in 1 Corinthians 13, showing that genuine Christian love is far more than emotion, affection, or acceptance. It is patient, kind, selfless, forgiving, and rooted in truth. This Christlike love requires sacrifice, humility, and a willingness to put others before ourselves.

Using examples from Scripture and history, including the heroic sacrifice of the Four Chaplains during World War II, he illustrated how true love reflects the heart of Jesus. While no one can perfectly love as Christ loved, Christians are called to pursue that standard. The world is watching, and our love, or lack of it, shapes how people see Christ.

The sermon concluded with a challenge to let Christ’s love define our reputation, influence our relationships, and become the clearest evidence that we belong to Him.
