Welcome to Avenue T Church of Christ!

“No matter who you are, where you come from, or where you are on your spiritual journey, there is a place for you in our church family. We are a warm, casual, and traditional congregation that values deep faith, beautiful acapella worship, and genuine connection. We don’t worry about dressed-up appearances or looking perfect; we just care about seeking God together. Explore our schedule below, plan your visit, and please stay for lunch right after the service, we’ve already saved a seat for you!”

Sunday Morning Schedule

  • 9:30 AM – Bible Class: An open, engaging time to dive into the Scriptures together. We have classes available for all growth stages.
  • 10:30 AM – Worship Service: Our main corporate gathering where we praise God, pray, and study His Word.
  • After Service – Potluck Lunch & Fellowship: Don’t rush off! Right after the service, we gather in our fellowship hall for a delicious potluck meal. It’s a wonderful time to chat, connect, and get to know each other. You don’t need to bring a dish to participate; we always make sure there is plenty of food for everyone!

What to Expect During Bible Class (9:30 AM)

Our Sunday morning Bible classes are the perfect way to start the day in a smaller, relaxed setting. Classes begin at 9:30 AM and wrap up around 10:15 AM, giving everyone plenty of time to stretch their legs and visit before the 10:30 AM worship service begins.

Here is what you can expect when you join us:

  • A Welcoming Environment: Our classes are casual and informal. You can grab a seat anywhere you like, and you won’t be put on the spot or asked to read aloud.
  • Bilingual Options (English & Español): We offer separate adult Bible studies in both English and Spanish concurrently. No matter which language you prefer to study in, we have a classroom and a dedicated teacher ready for you.
  • Open, Conversational Study: Rather than a formal lecture, our classes are interactive. We read directly from the scriptures, discuss how those verses apply to our modern lives, and open the floor for questions and comments. You are completely welcome to just sit back and listen, or jump into the conversation if you feel comfortable!
  • Classes for All Ages: We don’t just have studies for adults. We offer age-appropriate, engaging classes for children and youth as well, ensuring your entire family can grow in their faith together.

What to Expect During Worship

If you are visiting for the first time, we want you to feel completely at ease. Here is a quick look at what our services are like:

  • Atmosphere: Our services are traditional yet deeply casual. Come as you are! You will see people in jeans and t-shirts, and others in business casual. Wear whatever makes you comfortable.
  • Singing: Following traditional early church roots, our singing is entirely acapella (voices only, without instrumental accompaniment). It is a beautiful, powerful way for the entire congregation to lift up praise together in unity.
  • Communion: We celebrate communion every single Sunday to remember the sacrifice of Jesus.
  • Duration: Our worship service lasts approximately 60 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What Should I Wear?

Please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable! Our environment is deeply casual. On any given Sunday, you will see some people in jeans and polo shirts or t-shirts, and others in business casual attire. We care far more about you being here than what you are wearing.

Do you offer services in other languages?

Yes! We are blessed to have both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking ministries. Our 9:30 AM Bible classes and 10:30 AM worship services run concurrently at the exact same time in different areas of our building. No matter which language you feel most comfortable worshiping in, we have a seat saved for you. Afterward, we all meet up together in the fellowship hall for lunch!

What is acapella singing like?

Acapella worship means we praise God using only our voices, without any instrumental accompaniment. It is a beautiful, traditional practice modeled after the early Christian church. If you’ve never experienced it, it is a powerful way to feel connected, as every person in the room actively lifts their voice together in praise. Don’t worry if you don’t know the songs—you can easily follow along or just listen to the harmony.

Do I need to bring anything for the potluck lunch?

Absolutely not! Our congregation loves to cook, and we always ensure there is an abundance of food prepared specifically so guests don’t have to worry. You are our honored guest, so please simply bring yourself, enjoy a delicious meal, and let us serve you.

Will I be singled out or put on the spot as a visitor?

Never. We want you to feel relaxed and at home. While our members are naturally friendly and will likely introduce themselves to welcome you before or after the service, we will never make you stand up, wear a visitor badge, or speak in front of the congregation.
